The Non-Twitter Part of the Conversation

Ed Latimore is such a diverse guy that you could pick any one of his interests or areas of expertise and spend more time than you have learning from him.

This episode includes parts of our conversation that weren't relevant to the Twitter strategies that Ed shared in Episode 11.

We talk about life after graduating with a Physics degree, why he wants to create a course to teach students how to think about math, his public speaking, travel, his boxing career and more. I think you'll agree he's a fascinating guy and I'm happy to bring you this previously unpublished part of our conversation.

(Update: For various reasons, Ed has since retired from professional boxing).

Watch the Periscope with Scott Adams that happened after we discussed pursuing that opportunity during our chat.

Here's a link to Ed's interview on the Jordan Harbinger Show.

Even more fun is a link to Ed's appearance with Scott Adams on his ever popular, daily Periscope broadcast: https://youtu.be/vcmIvAj6wJw

Helping Families Find Money For College

Jocelyn Paonita Pearson founded The Scholarship System to share her own experience of graduating from college with ZERO student loans.

When college looked unaffordable for Jocelyn, she sprang into action and secured over $126,000 in college scholarships, even receiving an overage check for expenses. It wasn't an easy process, however. It took her years to figure out exactly what to do to be selected for scholarships.

Now she helps families learn how they can do the same by teaching them her 6-step System. Jocelyn is from Charleston, South Carolina, where she lives with her husband, Donny, and their pleasantly plump dog named Jaffe.

I was fascinated about how she made the jump to turn this unique experience into a thriving business.

Skills Discussed on the Show

Admittedly, this discussion wasn't focused as much on skills as it was on how Jocelyn turner her unique experience into a business that could help solve a monumental problem. Her system helps students develop a mindset and commitment to go to college debt free.

  • recognizing that when people are asking the same question and you're giving the same answer-you might have a business
  • writing before work
  • figuring out how to self-publish an ebook to share her system
  • validation of an idea
  • persistence
  • basic use of digital tools that were available at the time
  • willingness to test ideas
